Nicki Minaj Confirms Engagement To Meek Mill

Nicki Minaj has confirmed her engagement to rapper Meek Mill. Earlier this week, the Only hitmaker sparked speculations after posting a picture of themselves together (above) Nicki appearing to wear a huge diamond ring.

The 32-year-old took to her Twitter page teasing her fans, posting the ring emoji, a yellow heart, a diamond and a stuck out tongue, along with the words, “I’ll post it later.”

True to her word, revealing the yellow diamond, heart shaped sparkler on Instagram, Nicki proudly showed off her the ring.

Talking to E! News, Morgan Shara of MASbisjoux jewelry said: “This looks like a 15-carat fancy yellow heart modified brilliant cut diamond mounted in platinum with a double halo of white pavé diamonds.”

A source also confirmed to E! News that the couple are engaged: “Both Meek and Nicki have been spending amazing quality time together lately and have gotten extremely close these past few months.”

The source continued: “It may seem like it all is happening very quickly but Nicki and Meek are in this 100. They truly love each other.”

DJ Khaled Proposes to Nicki Minaj With 10-Karat Ring

DJ Khaled

In a heartfelt message videotaped by MTV News DJ Khaled made a proposal to Nicki Minaj. The rapper declared his love for the femcee with a 10-karat diamond ring.

“I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. The only reason I’m not telling you this face to face is because I know that you’re busy…,” he says. “[If] you gotta take your time and think about it, I understand.”
Khaled continued to explain why they will be a perfect couple because of the similarities that they share: “We got the same symptoms; we’re both suffering from success. You need a man like me in your life that’s gonna take care of you and respect you.”

Before revealing the ring from Rafaello & Co. and worth $500,000, the rapper added: “I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and about how serious this is to me. I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you.”

The Cash Money DJ concluded that he wanted to propose to her last year on the set of Take It To The Head music video: “But things got better for me – I prepared for this day. So I went and got this ring. Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?”

Khaled and Minaj have recently worked together on her latest single Twerk It – which also features Busta Rhymes and Pharrell Williams.

It is unknown if they are currently dating, or for how long.

There has been no word of whether the Young Money star has accepted his proposal but the songstress certainly knows for sure as she retweeted the link to the video via her Twitter page which suggests her response may be imminent.

Miley Cyrus Talks About Music And Says: “I’m Not Trying Not to Be the White Nicki Minaj”

Miley Cyrus

In a new interview with Billboard magazine, Miley Cyrus has stated that her musical direction has changed and the transformation has been difficult for some people to understand.

Gone has the sweet loving teenager who once sang about partying in the USA. Now in her place, stands a new singer whose latest single We Can’t Stop contains lyrics about drug use.

The 20−year – old tells the magazine: “A lot of people wanted to try to make me the white Nicki Minaj. That’s not what I’m trying to do. I love ‘hood’ music, but my talent is as a singer.”

The single We Can’t Stop shot to the top of the iTunes charts when it was released earlier this month, but the track has drawn some criticism for its lyrics and description of drug use. But Miley has said that singing about partying and actually partying are two entirely different things.

She tells Billboard: “I never stop working, ever — I put my track list together this morning. I want my record to be the biggest record in the world, and I’ve given everything to get here, even down to friends and family and relationships — I’ve just put this music first.”

Cyrus, who may or may have not broken up with her fiancé Liam Hemsworth recently, also said that she’s on a musical and life journey with no particular journey in sight.

She revealed: “That’s been kind of a trip: It’s not like I’m losing who I am — I actually found out more about who I am by making this music.

“I’m going on a journey, and that’s more than a lot of 20-year-olds can say. And I’m still going to change so much. Because I’m not the same person I was six months ago — I’m not even the same person I was two weeks ago.”

Cyrus’ new single, We Can’t Stop was produced by Mike WiLL, who is known for producing tracks for hip-hop artists including Juicy J, Lil Wayne and Future, the concluding of which will also rap on Cyrus’ untitled album.

Outside of her music, Cyrus has also gained notoriety for her new, edgier image, which has included filming herself “twerking” and letting Juicy J rain cash on her.

Miley Cyrus’ new album will be released this September.

Nicki Minaj: ‘I’m My Biggest Critic’

Nicki Minaj 22

Nicki Minaj has been acclaimed by critics to have the potential to be one of American Idol’s greatest judges ever seen, but the rapper has admitted that she can’t watch herself on the show as she is her own biggest critics.

The 30 – year – old made her debut on the show this week on the judging panel. However, the Young Money star has said she won’t be watching herself.

She told OK!: “I’m not going to watch myself. I have a hard time watching myself with anything. I’m afraid I’m going to overanalyse it and make myself feel bad about something I can’t change.

“With a performance, I’ll watch and then pause it and see if I could handle that. Sometimes it’s a good performance and I really love it and I’ll watch it every day after that. I’m my biggest critic.”

She continued: when I’m on the stage I feel what I do – if I do great, I feel it. It’s funny because that’s what we’re trying to tell the contestants. You should be at a place in your artistry when you know when you’re on and when you’re off, and no one should even need to tell you that.”

Minaj also revealed that she joined the judging panel after she watched rival talent shows where sob stories is the key to get past the auditions: “When I watch these shows and they say yes to someone who clearly doesn’t deserve it, that bothers my soul – I want to jump through the TV. For me, it was completely different. I don’t feel the need to send someone through just because of a great story.”

Steven Tyler Apologises To Nicki Minaj For ‘Racist’ Comment

Steven Tyler

Former American Idol judge Steven Tyler has apologised to Nicki Minaj after he made a comment that was deemed racist.

In a recent interview with MTV News, the Aerosmith frontman made a comment that referred to the colour of her skin.

But after being slammed by the rapper on Twitter, Tyler apologised for slamming the Young Money star with a remark that may have offended her.

Steven told Canadian entertainment show, eTalk: “I apologise if it was taken wrong, Nicki.

“But I am the farthest from [being a racist]. I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don’t know where she got that out of me saying I’m not sure how she would’ve judged Bob Dylan.”

Tyler insisted he never meant to upet Nicki: “If Bob Dylan came on the show, he would’ve been thrown off. Maybe I spoke out of turn. But a racist I’m not, Nicki.”

Nicki Minaj Confronts Steven Tyler Over Racist Comment

The 12th season of American Idol hasn’t even started yet and already we have seen its fair share of troubles. But already Nicki Minaj is involved with another row with former judge Steven Tyler.

In a recent interview with MTV News Tyler unfairly attacked Minaj over her judging skills.

The Areosmith frontman slammed the news judges on the talent show, saying: “You just have to give your opinion. It wasn’t hard for me, but I would imagine it’s hard for some people, and they need a manager to say ‘Shut the f***up, and just give them your opinion.”

Tyler continued: “These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best [out of them].

“If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”

An understandably angry Minaj responded on Twitter.

She wrote: “Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven’t seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet!”

She added: “I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven’t done anything to you. That’s a racist comment.”

She continued: “You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f*** yourself and worry about yourself babe.”

Twitter users agreed that Tyler was inappropriate as Bob Dylan, 71, is an important person of his generation.

The cornfield Tyler referred to was the Midwest in relation to the contenders from middle America who are sent home when they are voted out of the competition.

Nicki Minaj Speaks About The AMA’s, Performing With Justin Bieber, Album & Collaborating Mariah Carey

Making her appearance on Good Morning America, Nicki Minaj spoke out about winning two awards at the American Music Awards, performing with Justin Bieber her latest album Roman Reloaded: The Re-up, her infamous feud with Mariah Carey and whether she would collaborate with the singer.

Attending the 2012 American Music Awards, Minaj received two awards for Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop and Favorite Album – Rap/Hip-Hop for her album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

She said: “It was very surprising! Really all I could think about was that I had to do my performance, that’s why when I went up to collect my award I was a little bit like weirded out, but I had such a good time…it feels like such a family atmosphere.

“I feel like I’m more on edge at the VMAs, but with the AMAs there’s something about the way they do it, I don’t know if it’s that were in trailers, I don’t know what it is but it just feels way more comfortable and its super cool!”

She went on to talk about her performance with pop star Justin Bieber: “That was interesting! I was surprised when they asked me to perform with him. I was like, I can’t turn that down. I was like, it’ll be a good thing, I guess.

“We never really rehearsed it together. Everything was so quick. When I got up there with him, I was like okay, make sure everything works, get my cue and I walk out on time.”

The singer was also asked about the re-release of her album. The rapper talked about her excitement about releasing her new material: “The new songs are more gigantic to me. It feels like a new album to me. I’m really excited about the album!”

When asked about her new job, being a judge on American Idol, the Young Money star said: “I wouldn’t consider myself a tough judge; I would consider myself an honest judge. I’ve said before, I want them to leave with like the truth because I feel like the truth has always fuelled me to get better. We represent the viewers at home.”

She was then asked about her past feud with her fellow judge Mariah Carey and if she would do a collaboration. She replied: “I was kidding. I mean, no, she’s been one of my favourite artists of all time since I can remember, so it’s weird that everything kind of was blown up by that.

“She knows how much I adore her. I’m an adult and were passionate on the set and sometimes when you’re a passionate woman it ruffles another woman’s feathers but I’m gonna continue to be Nicki Minaj!”

Nicki Minaj On Her Critics: ‘I’ve Already Mastered Rap’

When Nicki Minaj released Pink: Roman Reloaded earlier this year in April, critics were disappointed and quick to point out that the album contained too many dance – pop tracks as there were a few rap songs.

But with her latest album release with the Re- Up, Minaj has returned to her original genre which put the rapper into the spotlight in the rap scene.

In an interview with MTV, Minaj had a few words to say to her critics, saying she wasn’t worried about receiving criticisms. In fact, to silence the critics the Re- Up shows that Minaj hasn’t abandoned hip – hop altogether.

She said: “The Re-Up is what I do naturally. It’s what I came into the game doing. So I actually don’t have the fears about it being critiqued. I guess when I started doing dance songs, then there was more like a question mark there, ’cause I had never done it.”

She adds: “But the songs I’m doing on the Re-Up I haven’t even gone into it thinking about criticism. I’ve already mastered [rap]. When people hear it, they will hear stuff that Nicki Minaj has already mastered. I don’t need approval on that.”

Which is true indeed as tracks like Freedom, Boys and Va Va Voom show what Minaj’s lyrical ability, quick wittiness and irresistible rhythm.

Though Minaj is not on the lookout for approval from critics, the Young Money star is determined to continue to take risk with her music.

She said: “[Artists] don’t always get the praise but in the long run, they get the respect. Because most artists in this business are so petrified of thinking outside of the box that they will remain in one little box for their whole careers. And to each his own, but I feel like as women, we gotta dare to be different.”

Nicki Minaj Wears Monique Lhuillier For AMA’s 2012

Nicki Minaj is known for her crazy outfits whether she is performing on stage, doing interviews or just on a normal day. The rapper is likely to wear something dramatic even if it is fashionably inane.

However when the 29 – year – old made an appearance at the 2012 American Music Awards on Sunday at Nokia Theatre she wasn’t donning a bizarre outfit, but instead a stunning dress.

The gown was elegant yet just as flamboyant and eccentric as Minaj as she opted for a strapless lime green gown from the Monique Lhuillier 2013 Resort collection.

The dress was a complimentary on her, despite that the colour was bright it was a toned down choice, suiting Minaj’s figure. Minaj accessorised her dress keeping it minimal with a statement necklace.

Although Minaj looks sophisticated wearing the dress, she isn’t the first to wear it as Julie Bowen wore the exact same dress two months ago at this year’s Emmy Awards in September. But despite that they have both worn it, the two ladies won awards at their respective award ceremonies.

Nicki Minaj ‘Scared’ About Her Image On American Idol

Since being confirmed that she will be a judge on American Idol, Nicki Minaj has had her fair shares of drama with fellow judge Mariah Carey, and it seems that the rapper is scared how her fans will judge her when the show airs early next year.

The singer who will make her debut as a judge on the 12th season of the singing competition in January next year, told the show’s host Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that she is worried how she will come across:”I’m scared. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so like… It’s hard for me to not say how I really feel.”

”Everyone else is so nice. I was just thinking back about some things and I was like, ‘I wonder if that was not so nice.’ I don’t think I’m going to be able to watch it. I’m going to be so nervous. But I know people are going to love it. I think it’s a great dynamic.”

But despite her worries, the Young Money star says she prefers to be honest when to comes to giving advice and being critical to the contestants on their performances.

”As an artist I’ve always grown more from the tougher criticism and so I would like to be that person and to try to help people get that thick skin and to really give it their all, because it is a competition.”

Moving on, the Super Bass hit maker opened up about her infamous feud with Mariah, saying that regardless of not getting on, they had ‘great chemistry’. She said: ”The chemistry of the judges, I feel it while I’m there. I think it’s really different from anything we’ve seen before on Idol and people are going to like it.”

Nicki went on to hint that they may be getting on better now and could even perform on stage together: ”If she’ll have me, I’ll be there waiting.”
