Lil Wayne Sued For Threatening To Kill His Bus Driver

 Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is facing a new lawsuit –for allegedly threatening to kill his former tour bus driver Mark Jones, and causing him emotional distress.

Jones, states the problem started during the Buffalo stop of Wayne’s tour when he pulled over to get gas. This apparently enraged Wayne who began to start cursing because the refuelling stop delayed the trip to get the hotel. So he began to threaten Jones making him afraid and continue driving without refuelling. Jones claims that the rapper continued to curse, threatening to unload his pistol and kill him.

Jones is suing Wayne for false imprisonment, assault, and emotional distress. Jones was hired to drive Wayne and his crew around for his 2014 summer concert tour.

It is not the first Wayne has been hit with legal issues. In July 2007 he was sentenced to jail after a concert in New York. Wayne was charged with once count of criminal weapons possession and one charge of criminal possession of a loaded weapon.

In 2010 he faced another legal issue. An Arizona judge sentenced Wayne to three years’ probation stemming from his 2008 arrest in the state over drugs and firearm possession charges.

Lil Wayne is also currently in the middle of a lawsuit, suing Cash Money Records after claiming he was a ‘prisoner’ at the label after refusing to release his long-awaited album Tha Carter V.

Lil Wayne And Scooter Braun

Lil Wayne has squashed his feud with Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, according to TMZ. After a video was released of Lil Wayne threatening Scooter, it appears the rapper has forgiven and moved on.

TMZ reports, Weezy and Scooter have resolved their feud with other. After hearing that Scooter called fellow Young Money rapper Lil Twist a ‘bad influence’ on Justin, Lil Wayne vented over the situation.

The video in which Lil Wayne appears in can be seen saying: “I heard this b**cha** n***a Scooter talkin’ s**t about my little brother.”

However it seems that the two have put their differences aside and are moving forward.

Phew. The beef couldn’t have been too serious since Lil Wayne and Young Money Entertainment recently forgave Justin for his N-word scandal.

When two videos of a young Justin making racist jokes and saying the N-word appeared questions were raised whether his pal Lil Twist at Young Money Entertainment would stand by him.

Regardless the controversy, Lil Wayne and Young Money forgave Justin. TMZ reported: “Everyone on the label has interacted with Bieber extensively and there has not been a hint of racism on Justin’s part.”

Mack Maine, President of Young Money Entertainment, told the website: “the majority of Justin’s crew is black, and, ‘Bieber does not have a slave mentality. He treats his people with respect.’”

J. Cole Apologises for Autism Lyric

J Cole

J. Cole has confessed to a mistake for a lyric referring to autism in a collaboration track with Drake. The rapper has issued a sincere apology for the offensive lyric on his blog Dreamvillian in which he states, ‘You deserve medals, not disrespect’.

On the Drake supported song, Jodeci Freestyle, the Roc Nation star raps: “I’m artistic, you ni**as is autistic, retarded.” The lyric has caused outrage and anger amongst his fans, which Cole has said to have prompted complaints.

In the letter on his blog, Cole explained that an apology was ‘necessary’ after the reactions of his fans have expressed towards him.

Cole is not the first artist to cause controversy with his lyrics. Lil Wayne lost an endorsement deal with Pepsi in May because of a lyric making a crude reference about Civil Rights figure Emmett Till. Furthermore, Rick Ross was also dropped after Reebok cut ties with him after a lyric in which the rapper appeared to condone date rape.

Read his heartfelt apology below.

Autism Speaks

Recently there’s been a trend that includes rappers saying something offensive, only to be attacked for it in the media and pressured to apologize. I have to be completely honest and say there’s a part of me that resents that. I view rap similar to how I view comedy. It’s going to ruffle feathers at times. It’s going to go “too far”. I do not believe that an apology is needed every time someone is offended, especially when that apology is really only for the sake of saving an endorsement or cleaning up bad press.

With that said, this is not the case today. This letter is sincere. This apology IS necessary.

In a recent verse on the song “Jodeci Freestyle”, I said something highly offensive to people with Autism. Last week, when I first saw a comment from someone outraged about the lyric, I realized right away that what I said was wrong. I was instantly embarrassed that I would be ignorant enough to say something so hurtful. What makes the crime worse is that I should have known better.

To the entire Autism community who expressed outrage, I’m moved and inspired by your passion, and I’m amazed at how strong you are as a unit. I have now read stories online from parents about their struggles and triumphs with raising an Autistic child and I admire how incredibly strong you have to be to do so. It’s touching. It also makes what I said even more embarrassing for me. I feel real shame. You have every right to be angry.

To anyone suffering from Autism, either mildly or severely, I am sorry. I’m bound to make mistakes in my life, but in my heart I just want to spread Love.

I want to educate myself more on Autism, and I’ll gladly own my mistake and serve as an example to today’s generation that there’s nothing cool about mean-spirited comments about someone with Autism. People with this disorder and their loved ones have to go through so much already, the last thing they need is to hear something as ignorant as what I said. I understand.

To the parents who are fighting through the frustrations that must come with raising a child with severe autism, finding strength and patience that they never knew they had; to the college student with Asperger’s Syndrome; to all those overcoming Autism. You deserve medals, not disrespect. I hope you accept my sincere apology.

Much Love

The rapper was expected to appear in court on October 29 but after suffering from two seizures, he misses the court date to recover.

Birdman Praises Lil Wayne For Breaking Elvis’ Billboard Hot 100 Record

Speaking to TMZ, Birdman said: ”This is a true milestone in Lil Wayne’s career and the legacy of YMCMB. Surpassing Elvis Presley is a testament to Wayne’s creativity and innovation in over the years.”

Presley who is known as the King of Rock and Roll, held the record since 1958 until 2003, to have 108 singles on the list, including his famous legendary hit singles Burning Love, Stuck On You, Don’t Be Cruel and Surrender.

After Wayne made an appearance as a featured artist on Game’s latest track Celebration, the rapper has 109 tracks that have appeared on the Billboard Hot 100.

Out of the 109 tracks, 42 were Weezy’s whilst the remaining 67 have been collaborations with other artists.

The rapper has had two No. 1’s on the Hot 100 with 2008’s Lollipop and 2009’s Down on which he was a featured artist for Jay Sean. 57 of his tracks have reached the top 40 and 17 have reached the top 10.

Drake’s Management Sued For Unpaid Royalties?

It has been reported that Drake’s Management team could be looking at a lawsuit against them. Before Lil Wayne had discovered the Toronto rapper, it was talent scout James ‘Jas’ Prince Jr. who had first heard of the MC. And now it seems that the Houston executive wants what he claims to be his.

According to the New York Daily News, Jas Prince – son of Rap-a-Lot CEO J. Prince – has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court against the rapper’s management team for breaching a contract and fiduciary duty. In the lawsuit, 10 claims have been stated against the manager Cortez Bryant, Gerald “Gee” Roberson, Derrick Lawrence and the company Aspire Music Group LLC as they have refused to provide an account of what he is due.

It is well acknowledged that it was Prince who had first introduced Drake to Young Money after he had found the emcee’s music on MySpace.

In an interview with music-industry veteran Al Lindstrom he explained how he had introduced Drake to Lil Wayne: “One day while leavin the [mall], I just threw [Drake’s] CD in and let it play.

“[Lil Wayne] was like, ‘Wait … who is this?’ and I was like, ‘Drake … the guy I been tellin’ you about.’ Wayne told me to book him on the next flight to Houston.”

Since being signed to Young Money, Drizzy released 2009 breakout mixtape So Far Gone, then his debut album Thank Me Later and his sophomore album Take Care; both albums which have gained platinum.

In the lawsuit, Prince claims that Bryant verbally agreed to pay a share of the profits earned from Drake’s contract with Young Money; a deal that Bryant assisted.

Prince’s attorney, James McMillian said his client hasn’t received any royalties in over a year despite that Drake’s albums have generated millions of dollars in sales. Prince goes on to claim that Drake is also being cheated on by his management team and that Young Money Star is ‘on the brink’ is suing Aspire and Bryant who also manage Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

“We have no idea how much is owed because they are hiding behind one guy,” McMillan has said.

He went on to say that entertainment lawyer Ronald Sweeney is representing both of Drake’s managers and the record company that pays the royalties and is controlled by Lil Wayne. 5 million album copies have been sold in the last couple of years.

“It’s one big shell game,” McMillan said.

Apparently Drake’s royalty account has zilch even though his global sales “are in excess of five million units.” In an April 2012 letter from Drake’s attorney, Robert Meloni states that the rapper has received an “inexcusably delayed, incomplete, confusing and misleading”

Court papers state that Prince had demanded an accounting but was referred to Sweeney by Drake’s managers. Prince had also asked Lil Wayne’s companies for an accounting but suggested to Sweeney again.
