Jay-Z & Robert De Niro Get Into A Fight, Beyoncé Tries to Break It Up?

According to the New York Post, Jay- Z and Robert De Niro reportedly got into a heated argument at a birthday gathering for actor Leonardo DiCaprio in a New York City restaurant.

According to some unnamed sources, the Godfather II actor was holding the court at his table when the rapper went to greet him. It was then that De Niro took the opportunity to tell Jay-Z that he didn’t appreciate his several phone calls to be ignored.

A source told the Post, De Niro reportedly said to Jay-Z: “If somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude.”

Apparently the argument was about a song that Jay-Z had agreed to record for the Tribeca Film Festival which was co – founded by De Niro. It appears that De Niro had reached out to Jay-Z for the track to be accomplished but the performer had failed to call him back.

However, Jay-Z tried to make light of the argument and said that he was terrible at returning phone calls. But his explanations fell on deaf ear as De Niro was upset at being ignored.

De Niro’s anger became noticeable amongst the guests that included A – list celebrities: Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Martin Scorsese and Cameron Diaz.

After De Niro’s continuing scolding, Beyonce intervened and tried to silence the argument but wasn’t successful.

The source told the Post: “De Niro kept telling him that he thinks he’s the man, but that he was disrespectful.

“It was the talk of the party. Everyone was saying there’s only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that’s Robert De Niro. He can be quite scary when he’s angry.”

However an insider close to De Niro told the Post that the alleged argument was a private conversation between them.

The insider said: “It was a low-key private conversation between two people that was apparently overheard. It was not a heated discussion. ”
