As she graced the red carpet at the Met Gala, Kim Kardashian’s outfit was immensely compared to Beyoncé’s 2012 Met Gala look. Whilst some suspected that the singer was behind the inspiration, it was rather another artist to influence the look.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashian star wore a white shimmering gown which had a flowing feathered train by Peter Dundas. Beyoncé’s similar gown was a black and purple design by Givenchy.
It was Cher who was behind the inspiration of the Roberto Cavalli outfit. Posting a photo of a young Cher in 1974 wearing a feathered, sheer white and nude gown, Kim captioned it writing: “Tonight’s inspiration! Cher at the 1st ever Met Gala! I just met her and told her this photo was my inspiration for my dress tonight! She is so beautiful! So happy I met her!”
She then posted a picture posing with the pop icon. She wrote: “This beauty, this icon! I’m so so happy I met her!!!! We spoke about our amazing Armenian journeys! And that Bob Mackie gown she wore to the Met 1974”
