Cardi B and Offset Welcome Their Daughter

Cardi B and Offset have welcomed their first child together on Tuesday (July 10). According to TMZ, the Migos rapper was by Cardi’s side as she gave birth to their daughter in an Atlanta hospital.

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker announced the baby’s arrival and name on Instagram the following day, posting a maternity photo with the caption: “Kulture Kiari Cephus 07/10/18 @offsetyrn.”

The name prevails itself from Migos’ two chart-topping album releases, 2017’s Culture and this year’s following Culture II, whilst Kiari is Offset’s birth name. Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres in April, Cardi explained Offset came up with the baby’s name: “My dude [Offset] named the baby. I really like the name. I’ma let him say the name since he named the baby. It’s like, almost tricky, but when it comes out, it’s like, ‘Ah!’”

Cardi kept her pregnancy a secret until revealing her impending birth during a performance on SNL earlier in April. She continued to promote her debut album Invasion of Privacy whilst pregnant.

The artist opened up in an interview with Rolling Stone about motherhood, professing: “I don’t want to miss one second. I don’t want to miss no smiles, I don’t want to miss no new movement, I don’t want the baby to confuse me and the babysitter.”

This is the first child for Cardi B and the fourth for Offset, who has three children from previous relationships. The couple secretly wed in September and are planning a wedding ceremony later this year.
