Ranbir Kapoor has ended all speculations surrounding marriage plans with girlfriend Katrina Kaif. The actor has confirmed that they intend to marry by the end of 2016. The couple have been rumoured to seeing each other since working in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
In an interview with Ananda Bazar Patrika, Kapoor said: “This year, there’s a lot of pressure on me because of work. I feel I won’t be able to make the time. I’m thinking of getting married towards the end of next year. Till now, that’s the plan for me and her.”
The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani star went on to talk about his relationship, saying: “Both of us are sure about our relationship and if we don’t open about it now, it would be showing disrespect to the relationship. I am 33 now and its time I have my family.”
He added: “Even Katrina wants that. I have grown up in a family where film is everything. So I know the importance of gossip and my funda is simple. When there is gossip, try not to react and it is advisable not to think too much about yourself.”
When asked why celebrities aren’t reputable and the reason behind the distance he keeps, Kapoor said: “That’s their business. Some things they don’t do, but I do. Some things I don’t do, but they do. The mystery surrounding stars is no longer there. I want to retain that mystery. The viewers and fans should see me just before the release of a film.”
Kapoor is currently busy with his forthcoming movie Bombay Velvet whilst Kaif is expected to attend this year’s Cannes International Film Festival.
