Miami Beach Police were alarmed after an apparent hoax call, reporting four people had been shot at Lil Wayne’s mansion.
The department reassured that this was the case as they tweeted, “Unfortunately this appears to be a ‘swatting’ call.”
A spokesman for the Miami Beach police department, Ernesto Rodriguez confirmed that they had received a call around 12.40pm ET from an anonymous male who claiming he had shot four people at the Young Money star’s home.
Rodriguez stated, police searched the home and no locations of a gunman or any victims were encountered.
The department posted another tweet saying the department handles all calls seriously, “‘swatting’ is a possibility but MBPD does not take chances when responding to these types of calls.”
Weezy is said to be okay as it was reported by his label that the hip-hop star wasn’t home during the shootout. A tweet posted by YoungMoneySite reads, “Wayne is okay. Wasn’t home during alleged events.”
