‘I Can’t Get First Lady A Gift!’: Jennifer Hudson Reveals Why She Won’t Buy Michelle Obama A Present For 50th Birthday

The First Lady celebrated her 50th birthday with a big party at the White House on Saturday night called Snacks & Sips & Dancing & Desserts, with Jennifer Hudson to perform at the bash.

Whilst exiting the airport in Washington D.C. the singer told TMZ reporters it would be silly to purchase a gift for Michelle as she has everything she needs.

She told the media outlet: “You don’t [get presents], you just go and be there with them. That’s all you can do.”

The singer is known to be exceptionally generous as she gifted her assistant Walter Williams a new house over the holidays.

The star admitted since knowing each other since grade school, last Christmas she wanted to surprise him with her offering.

Jennifer recalled, saying: “That’s how he ended up with the house because I bought him a car, I bought him diamond studs and then I was like, ‘Geez what do I get him now? Oh, he needs a house!’”

The songstress was excited to be given the opportunity to sing for the First Lady, believing that the presidential family would enjoy what she had in store for them.

With a smile she said: “[I’ll be singing] I Can’t Describe, my new single. It’s in the groove and the Obamas…I’m sure they’ve already got it.”
