Kim Kardashian’s former publicist has apologised for calling her marriage to Kris Humphries ‘a sham’.
After Kim had announced her split to Kris in October, Jonathan Jaxson came forward and made claims that the reality star’s marriage was a fraud.
Jaxson appeared on Los Angeles chat show Good Day L.A. and stated he had worked for the reality star between 2007 -2009 and allegedly said the nuptials to the basketball player were a stunt: “Two weeks prior to her wedding she knew it was not something she wanted to do.
“Unfortunately they were obligated to honour contracts [with the E! network which had TV rights] otherwise they would have owed a lot of people a lot of money.”
He then added that they had earned a lot through their wedding and their lies were ‘foolish garbage’: “They had a lot of contracts, they had endorsements. To say they weren’t paid is a lot of foolish garbage.”
After learning of Jaxson making the claims, the 31 – year – old hired Hollywood attorney Marty Singer who filed a lawsuit against him.
Since being hit by a lawsuit and reaching a settlement Jaxson has publicly apologised for his comments.
He wrote on his blog: “I wanted to apologise publicly to Kim Kardashian for any confusion that I may have caused by the personal statements I made recently regarding Kim Kardashian.”
“I would like to further clarify that I did not have any first hand knowledge of Kim’s relationship with Kris. Any statement I made regarding Kim and her marriage was my opinion only and was not intended to imply first hand knowledge of Kim’s thoughts and feelings.”
Kim also released a statement to E! News via her lawyer, addressing the situation: “[Kim is] very happy to announce that she has reached a settlement of her claims against Jonathan Jaxson.
“As part of the confidential settlement, Mr Jaxson has issued a public apology to Kim. Kim is extremely pleased with the outcome of the matter.”
