54th Annual Grammy Award Winners 2012

The 54th Grammy Awards took place on February 12, 2012. With 109 awards being given out at the Annual award show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, it was Adele who took home 6 Grammys including:

Album Of The Year – Adele – 21

Song of the year: Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth (songwriters) – Rolling In The Deep

Record Of the Year – Adele – Rolling In Deep

Pop Solo Performance – Adele – Someone Like You

Pop Vocal Album – Adele – 21

Short-form Music Video: Adele – Rolling in the Deep

The Foo Fighters who were nominated for six awards took home five, which were:

Rock album: Foo Fighters – Wasting Light

Rock performance: Foo Fighters – Walk

Hard rock/metal performance: Foo Fighters – White Limo

Rock song: Foo Fighters (songwriters) – Walk

Long-form music video: Foo Fighters – Foo Fighters: Back and Forth

Kanye West was the only artist to be voted the most for 7 nominations but only won 4 awards which included:

Rap album: Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Rap performance: Kanye West – Otis (with Jay-Z)

Rap/sung collaboration: Kanye West – All of the Lights (with Rihanna, Kid Cudi & Fergie)

Rap song: Kanye West – All of the Lights (with Jeff Bhasker, Stacy Ferguson, Malik Jones, Warren Trotter)

The Grammy Awards was also a night to remember as it was announced Whitney Houston has passed away. Jennifer Hudson paid tribute to the singer with her rendition of the classic single I Will Always Love You.  Nearly every singer who took to the stage to perform or pick their award up gave their credit and tribute to the best – selling solo vocalist in history.

Etta James who also passed away last month was paid tribute by Alicia Keys and country star Bonnie Raitt.
