Jay Sean Announces New Album Entitled ‘Neon’

Jay Sean

It’s been three years since Jay Sean released an album but the singer is finally ready to drop his fourth album.

Talking to Rap – UpTV on the red carpet at Cash Money’s pre-Grammy party earlier this month, the 31 – year – old joked, saying: “As you all know, the album has been taking a long time. I think it’s about four-and-a-half thousand years so far.”

The follow up to 2009’s All Or Nothing is finished and is waiting on a release date.

Sean explained: “The album is finally finished. We handed it into Cash Money at the beginning of the year.”

The delay of his forthcoming album was due to a lawsuit that prevented him from releasing any music, and Sean taking his time to prefect the album.

“I had to figure out what makes it different. I didn’t want to put out singles that could’ve been sung by Chris Brown or Usher or Ne-Yo. It had to be unique to me and that took me a minute to really understand.”

Sean also exclusively revealed that the album title has been changed and will now be called Neon (It was previously titled Worth It All).

Sean described his work on the album, saying: “The album is the best piece of work I’ve done to date, without a doubt in the last 10 years.

“This album is a mixture of R&B, of pop, of some rock influence as well, of hip-hop influence. It’s just all of the great genres that I love and I grew up on in one. The songwriting and production on this album is superb. It really took us a long time to get it right, but I’m so proud of it.”

The Cash Money star gave another exclusive. The first single from the album Where You Are is expected to be released within the next month.

He said: “It’s a beautiful song”.

Jay Sean can also be heard on his latest collaboration featuring on DJ Pauly D new single Back to Love.
